The NSW Home Energy Saver Program is here
Here's what it means for installers
The NSW Government has launched the Home Energy Saver Program, a new initiative designed to help households across NSW upgrade to more energy-efficient technology. For installers working in solar, batteries, HVAC and heat pumps, this is worth paying attention to.
What the program offers
Eligible NSW homeowners can access up to $4,000 in upfront discounts and up to $15,000 in interest-free financing to fund home energy upgrades. Multiple upgrades can be bundled into a single application, which makes the program particularly useful for customers considering more than one improvement at once.
Loan applications through finance partners Brighte and Plenti are already open. Discount applications are expected to follow.
Who can apply:
To be eligible for a Home Energy Saver loan, your customers must:
Live in NSW
Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
Have a combined taxable household income of up to $210,000
Own the property (owner-occupier or landlord)
Install an eligible technology under the program
What qualifies?
Eligible upgrades under the program include:
Reverse cycle air conditioners
Heat pump water heaters
Solar water heaters
Rooftop solar systems
Residential batteries
and more
Customers can bundle multiple upgrades into a single application, making it even easier to improve their home's energy performance.
Why Should you Join:
Getting accredited puts you in front of customers who are already looking to upgrade. It also means you can offer the program at the point of sale, a shorter path from quote to yes.

Be accredited through Brighte or Plenti
Where we come in
Once your customer has a loan approved, the certificate side of the job still needs to be handled correctly. NCBA can create certificates for any eligible activity under the program, making sure each upgrade is set up right and that the loan goes as far as it can across everything your customer is installing.
If you are already working with NCBA on other jobs, this is an extension of what we already do. If you are not, and you are picking up work through the Home Energy Saver Program, it is worth a conversation.
