How the Schemes Work

Our Role in the ecosystem - Helping installers to access cashback when they undertake energy efficient upgrades

There are different parties working for the Energy Saving Schemes to take place. Read on to understand the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in the schemes.

INDEPENDENT REGULATORS

The Independent Regulators are government departments that oversees the Schemes and sets laws and regulations.

US: ACCREDITED
CERTIFICATE PROVIDERS

Accredited Certificate Providers (ACP) are companies like us. We make sure that the required evidence is provided, and that the documents meet the scheme standards. We then claim for the government incentives and pass them to the installers.

OUR CLIENT:
THE INSTALLER

Cartoon character with large eyes, floppy ears, and a small mouth.

Our client is the Installer who completes the upgrade (e.g. lighting, A/C, hot pumps) and provides the required evidence to the ACP. By accessing the incentives, the installer can give discounts to their customers for the upgrade.

OUR CLIENT’S CUSTOMER:
HOMEOWNER/BUSINESS

Our client’s customer is the home owner or business owner who receives the energy-efficient upgrade paying a better price.

On a high-level, this is how the Scheme works:

The installer (our clients) goes to a business or a residency and installs energy efficient products approved by the schemes.

Meanwhile, they collect all the evidence required by the scheme and send it to ACPs like us.

Once we receive the evidence and run our compliance high quality check, we submit the certificates’ claims to the regulator.

Scheme auditors will randomly check some of the jobs and, if everything checks out, the regulator will transfers us the certificates, which we then trade in the market to convert into cash.

We don’t make our clients, the installers, wait for us to get the certificates to then get paid. We have a good cash flow, which allows us to pay installers upfront. Because the installer can quickly access these incentives through companies like us, they can pass along to home owners and business as a discount on the final price of their products.
