Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs) available for NSW hot water upgrades
Create both STCs and ESCs for eligible solar water heater or heat pump installations in New South Wales.
The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) has expanded to increase the uptake of solar water heaters and heat pumps that replace existing electric or gas hot water systems, by NSW residents and small businesses.
What makes a hot water installation eligible for ESCs?
Product Replaced: existing electric or gas hot water system
Activities to do before installation date:
Site assessment must be carried out on/before install date
Purchaser must sign Nomination form on/before install date
Minimum co-payment: Purchaser must pay a minimum of $220 (inc.GST) for installation
Qualifications/Training: Installer must be qualified, licenced and trained.
Product Installed: Must be accepted by IPART - TESSA
Decomissioning: Existing equipment must be decommissioned and removed from the site.
