Batteries Are Becoming an Even Bigger Opportunity

Two updates across BESS 1 and BESS 2 that expand eligibility and extend opportunities

BESS 1

BESS 1 is back for government programs. It's been reintroduced for Minister-approved programs reaching renters, public and AHO housing, Energy Account Payment Assistance recipients, and homes in Renewable Energy Zones, and it's stackable with STCs.

BESS 2

BESS2 (VPP sign-ups) also got easier:

  • Eligible battery sizes: 2kWh–50kWh (incentives capped at 28kWh)

  • Solar requirement removed

  • Usable capacity now defined as 90% of nominal capacity

  • Warranty requirements relaxed

  • Nomination forms can be signed within 90 days of onboarding to a VPP

Why NCBA

Over the years, we've built a reputation for paying customers reliably, without asking installers to change how they work to fit us.

If you're looking to get incentives or understand more about the new rules, our team can walk through eligibility, stacking, and documentation requirements.
