Earn ~20% more on AC installs

Great news for air conditioning installers in NSW: from 12 September 2025, the NSW Government is updating the Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) Rule and you can get more for your projects.

What Changed?

The government has increased the assumed lifetime of new air conditioners from 10 years to 12 years.

That extra two years are significant. The longer the system’s lifetime, the more energy savings can be counted.

What Does This Mean for You?

This means that your eligible projects will generate around 20% more incentives. From September, air conditioning projects in NSW will simply be worth more. That’s a win for businesses, households, and everyone committed to cleaner, more efficient energy.

We will automatically apply the increase to all eligible claims for installs completed on or after this date.
