Air-conditioning units rewarded with cashback for ability to reduce peak summer blackouts

We all know purchasing and installing air conditioning is a serious decision for many households, especially if you want to invest in a high performing system from a reputable brand.

Fortunately for NSW residents and small businesses, installers can offer discounted prices to customers; with new cashback incentives available under the Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS).

The New South Wales Government has introduced the PDRS to help reduce energy demand in peak times.

This initiative aims to stabilise and secure our electricity grid and accelerate the transition to a 100% renewable energy market.

As the first PRC creators, we're excited to see this program is delivering massive benefits to NSW households and businesses.

Under the PDRS, residential and commercial air-conditioning installations that qualify can cash-in claims for Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) and Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs), under the ESS at the same time.

ESC + PRC cashbacks for new AC installation have been widely adopted, with more than 150 people trained by NCBA.  These installers have completed air conditioning upgrades at more than 3,200 homes and small businesses across NSW.

So rather than customers asking can I afford to install AC or not? Now the decision is which 5-star or 6-star rated reverse cycle air conditioning unit will suit my home and my budget?
