National Carbon Bank of Australia provides assistance to your organisation, by helping you realize significant savings that are available from government state-based schemes such as the NSW Energy Savings Scheme and the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target scheme. The principal objective of these schemes is to provide a financial incentive for businesses to reduce the consumption of electricity through energy savings. Due to the complexity of the schemes, companies need assistance in understanding and meeting the necessary requirements. This is where we come in. The National Carbon Bank of Australia will work on your behalf to guide, check and audit the process, and once complete, to create and sell the certificates for you when you earn them.
The diagram depicts how the relationship between you, the supplier and National Carbon Bank of Australia, works.
You nominate the supplier (or we can recommend suppliers with approved products under the schemes) and choose the solution and agree a price for supply and install.
You also nominate the National Carbon Bank of Australia (by signing our approved form) to perform the functions that will ensure the supply and install process complies with the scheme requirements and once the activity is complete, to create and sell the resultant energy savings certificates, on your behalf.
The National Carbon Bank of Australia will guide the supplier through their obligations which includes providing details of the equipment that will be in place before and after the install is complete (with technical details and specifications). NB your new products must be accredited products under the schemes, we can help you check this before you choose your supplier.
The supplier will also need to work with the National Carbon Bank of Australia to collect and provide information such as site audit details, lux levels (in the case of commercial lighting) as well as other items such as checklists for their licenses and safety work practices. They may also need to verify certain additional activities have taken place such as the environmentally safe disposal of your old equipment.
The National Carbon Bank of Australia, being ultimately responsible for ensuring compliance, must verify the correctness of the information given, by performing our own audit checks (involving a combination of authority checks, site visits and accuracy of information checks). All documents for every activity are compiled and checked – then held for further auditing purposes for the administering authorities.
Once the activity is complete and all documentation and auditing is complete, the National Carbon Bank of Australia will create the energy savings certificates and then sell them on your behalf. Our fee for services is taken from the proceeds of the sale of your energy savings certificates.Want to know more?
