In October 2015 NCBA’s project was declared by the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) for National Lighting Upgrades project under the ERF. We are now able to create Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU’s) for lighting upgrades anywhere in Australia.
The first two auctions were predominantly agricultural and land sector CO2 abatement. At the price offered by the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) it is still not as attractive as the NSW ESS and VEET state schemes for creating a return, however it is better than not receiving anything.
The secondary market for carbon abatement is growing. This should provide an avenue to sell ACCU’s created through energy efficiency projects for a more viable price in the future. Therefore NCBA is continuing to develop projects under our National Lighting Upgrades project for projects occurring outside of NSW or Victoria.
We have opened a new office in Clayton, Victoria as of April 15th, 2016.
We welcome two new team members – Lida Tracey (Senior Compliance Manager) and James Gower (Compliance and Upgrade Inspection Manager) who will be holding down the fort in Melbourne.
Grace Gallagher (Compliance Manager) is now heading up our Byron Bay office and will be overseeing the operation in Northern NSW.
We’re excited to continue growing.
If you have lighting upgrades under development outside of NSW and VIC please get in touch with David Joseph (Measurement and Verification Manager) to discuss how you can participate.
